Winner of five consecutive Filmfare Best Male Playback awards (1990-1995) for Aashiqui, Saajan, Deewana, Baazigar and 1942: A Love Story. Guinness World Record holder in 1993 for 28 songs recorded in a single day. Padma Shri 2009.
